How to Measure Your Pet for Clothing?

To ensure your pet's clothing fits perfectly, it's important to measure your pet accurately. Follow these simple steps to get the correct measurements:

(A) Neck Girth

Measure around the base of your pet's neck. This is the area just above their collarbones, where the neck connects to the body. Make sure the measuring tape is snug but not tight.

(B) Chest Girth

Measure the widest part of your pet’s chest. For accuracy, it’s best to measure while your pet is standing or sitting. Avoid measuring when your pet is lying down, as this can distort the measurements. The tape should not be too tight or too loose — aim for a comfortable, relaxed fit. For extra comfort, consider adding 1-2 cm to the measurement.

(C) Back Length

Measure from the base of your pet’s neck (where the neck meets the shoulders) to the base of the tail. This will give you the length of your pet’s back, helping to ensure the clothing fits properly from neck to tail.

(D) Belly Girth For Sphynx Cats

Measure around the widest part of your pet's belly. This measurement is especially important for Sphynx cats, who have a distinct body shape. Be sure to keep the measuring tape snug but comfortable.

Sizing Tip

If your pet's chest girth and back length measurements fall between two sizes, it's generally best to choose the larger size. This allows for extra comfort and ensures the clothing isn’t too tight, which could restrict movement or cause discomfort. A slightly larger size can also provide more room for your pup to grow, and you can always adjust the fit with straps or fasteners if the garment has them. Additionally, choosing the larger size helps accommodate for thicker fur or a more muscular build, especially around the chest area.

Please Note: Our products have different size charts for each style or item. To ensure the best fit, please be sure to check the size chart specific to the product you are purchasing, which can be found under the product listing. Our size chart reflects the shirt sizing, so make sure to refer to it when selecting the right size for your pet.

For example:

(1) Honeybun

  • Chest Girth: 16"
  • Back Length: 14"

Based on these measurements, choose size XL for Honeybun. The chest girth falls in the M range, and the back length falls in the XL range. Choosing size XL will give Honeybun a looser fit around the chest while providing a perfect fit for the back length. This ensures the shirt won’t be too short like a cropped top, giving Honeybun a comfortable and stylish look.

(2) Nala Sphynx Cat

  • Chest girth: 32cm
  • Back length: 34cm
  • Belly girth: 37.5cm

We also provide a size chart in centimeters in our product listing. Based on Nala’s measurements, her chest girth and back length fall within the L range. However, the belly girth may be slightly tight with size L. Please note that our size chart reflects shirt sizing, and for Nala to have a more comfortable fit, especially around her belly, choose size XL. This will provide more space in the belly area and ensure Nala has plenty of room to move around comfortably.
